How it works
Backup and export
Save your whole vault as one file, and bring it back later.
In short
- You pick what goes. Your records (panes, tags, notes, the feed) are ticked from the start; media files only if you tick them.
- Bringing a file back never deletes anything, unless you choose Replace them.
How to export your vault
- Open ⚙ Settings ▸ Backup & transfer.
- Tick the parts you want. Everything adds PDFs, videos, music and pictures too.
- Press Export the picked parts. One zip file downloads.
How to bring it back
- In the same place, press Choose an archive… and pick the zip file.
- Read the plan (new, newer, already here) and untick what you do not want.
- Press Import the ticked parts. A backup is taken first. Newer wins, nothing is removed.
Good to know
- Files already here are kept, unless you choose Overwrite them.
- Your AI service keys stay out unless you tick Include API keys.
A cut-short download will not open, so it cannot pass for a whole file. Export again.
