How it works
Your activity and tasks
The feed is what you did, day by day; the task board is what is left to do.
In short
- The feed is your history. Every pane you added, every highlight, every question and every note gets a bubble, in the order it happened, under the day it happened.
- The task board is your to-do list. Open it with ◫ in the feed bar. Tasks also arrive from your phone and as Orbital’s own suggestions.
- Nothing is lost. A failed import stays as a line, with its reason.
How to look back
- Click a day in the strip under the filter box and the feed jumps to it. Hold ⇧ and click to see that day alone.
- Click a type (papers, posts, notes…) to see only that kind of thing, or type a word from a title in Filter feed….
- Press ◈ in the feed bar to switch from the day-by-day view to a view grouped by item, one row per pane.
- Press ⬇ in the feed bar to save the whole record as a text file.
How to use the task board
- Make a task. Right-click a bubble and choose ✓ Make a task of this.
- Move it along. Drag the task between Todo, Doing, Blocked and Done.
Good to know
- Small actions leave a faint line, not a bubble: a tag added, a rename, a visit. They are still there when you look for them.
- Every run is kept. A failed import is a line you can read, with a retry beside it, rather than a pane that never appeared.
